What is themeBASE?
themeBASE is a curated theme marketplace where every theme is AI-vetted and every search runs through an AI concierge. You describe what you need in plain English, get a ranked shortlist, customize the preview by chatting, and deploy in one click via WordToSite. Currently in closed beta.
Can I use themeBASE today?
Not yet. themeBASE is in closed beta as of 2026. The first 500 buyers from the waitlist are being onboarded in waves. Founding-member benefits (30% lifetime discount, $50 marketplace credit, free WordToSite deployment for year one) apply in chronological signup order.
How is themeBASE different from ThemeForest?
Three operational differences. First, no buyer fee. ThemeForest adds $2 to $3 to every checkout, themeBASE does not. Second, AI concierge search replaces faceted browsing. Third, AI customization before purchase. You change colors, fonts, and copy by chatting with the preview. Every theme also passes a 10-stage AI quality review and ships with pre-licensed images and fonts.
How does the AI concierge work?
Type a sentence describing your business. The concierge converts the description into a vector embedding, searches the catalog by semantic similarity, then re-ranks the top candidates with a large language model that scores fit against your constraints. It asks clarifying questions when the brief is ambiguous.
Can I customize a theme before I buy?
Yes. Every theme has an interactive preview where you can chat to change the design: colors, typography, copy, layout, stock imagery from the Content Bank. The AI rewrites the preview CSS and swaps assets in real time. The customizations stay with you when you deploy.
What does AI-Verified mean?
Every theme passes a 10-stage automated review: static checks, security scanning (Snyk, Semgrep), code review by Claude Opus 4.7, sandbox deployment with Lighthouse, multimodal visual critique, embedding-based originality check, accessibility audit, and documentation grade. Themes scoring 90 or above earn the badge.
What does AEO and GEO native mean for my site?
AEO is Answer Engine Optimization. GEO is Generative Engine Optimization. Together they describe structuring content so AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity can read, cite, and recommend it. themeBASE templates ship with semantic HTML, schema.org markup, FAQPage blocks, llms.txt metadata, and machine-readable summaries on key pages. When a customer asks an AI assistant a question your site can answer, your site is shaped to be the cited source.
How does deployment work?
One click, for authorized themes only. When you buy a theme that is authorized for one-click deploy, themeBASE hands it (and your customizations) to WordToSite, our sister AI website-as-a-service product, which provisions hosting, configures DNS, sets up SSL, and goes live in minutes. Themes that are not authorized for one-click deploy (and any authorized theme you would rather self-host) download as a standard ZIP for WordPress or any compatible host.
What does it cost?
Themes are priced from $19 to $79, with most WordPress themes between $29 and $49. No buyer fee at checkout. Two license types: Personal (single project, end users not charged) and Commercial (single project, end users can be charged). Bundles of 3 or more licenses get progressive discounts that scale with volume, and custom pricing is available on request for larger orders. Waitlist members also get 30% off for life and a $50 starting credit.
Is themeBASE safe to use in production?
Yes. The AI parts of themeBASE sit on top of mature, audited infrastructure, not in place of it. Payments and PCI compliance run on Stripe (Stripe Payments, Stripe Connect, Stripe Tax, Stripe Radar). Every theme upload is first screened by deterministic tooling (Snyk for dependency scanning, Semgrep for static analysis, sandbox deploy with Lighthouse) before any large language model is involved. Tax calculation, payouts, KYC, and chargeback handling are all delegated to Stripe rather than reimplemented in-house. The marketplace is a thin trusted layer on top of those stacks, not a vibe-coded prototype that breaks in production. Buyer card data never touches a themeBASE server.
What if I need help?
Every theme ships with Suppilot, an AI support copilot indexed on that theme's documentation, code, and changelog. Most questions resolve in under 30 seconds. For deeper issues, Suppilot reproduces the bug in a sandbox and suggests a patch. Only genuinely novel code-level issues escalate to the original theme author.
Can I get a refund?
Full refund within 14 days if the theme is materially not as described or fails to function. Because you preview and customize before buying, change-of-mind refunds are not typical.
How do I join the waitlist?
Submit your email on themebase.ai. You'll be notified when your wave opens, typically 2 to 6 weeks from signup. Founding-member benefits apply to the first 500 buyers in chronological signup order.
